From the Classroom to Finland's Sustainability Sector

Zainab Kulsoom built her career as an educator and science content specialist, teaching and developing curriculum across institutions in Pakistan, the United Kingdom, and Bulgaria. Alongside her M.Phil. in Botany — completed with a perfect 4.0 CGPA and research into the pharmacognostic and phytochemical properties of Nepeta distans — she developed a strong foundation in environmental research, lab work, and scientific communication.

That foundation is now what has taken her to Finland, where she is pursuing a Master's in Corporate Environmental Management at the University of Jyväskylä, specializing in sustainability strategy, CSR, environmental management systems, and the circular economy. Alongside her studies, she also owns and runs a small business in Finland, giving her a working understanding of Finnish entrepreneurship and residency requirements that goes beyond the classroom. She is now preparing to move into a Ph.D. next year, continuing to build her academic and professional life in Finland. Having moved through the exact process of applying, relocating, studying, and building a business in Finland, Zainab leads the Finland desk with first-hand knowledge of the route StudVisor's Finnish-bound clients are looking to take.

What She Brings to Every Client Conversation

Zainab's years in education mean she communicates complex academic and visa processes clearly and patiently, while her research training gives her a detail-oriented, evidence-based approach to every application. Running her own enterprise in Finland has given her practical insight into the country's business, residency, and self-employment pathways — valuable for clients looking beyond just a student visa. Her ongoing coursework in sustainability and environmental management, together with her upcoming move to Ph.D. study, keeps her closely connected to how Finnish academic life actually works at every stage. Fluency across English, Urdu, Pashto, Hindko, Finnish, Persian, and Arabic lets her support clients from a wide range of backgrounds directly, without losing anything in translation.
